The New Solution to Weight Loss
DANBURY, October 26, - Edward A. Markowitz, D.C., D.A.C.B.O.H., Clinical Director of Physicians Health and Injury Center in Danbury is currently enrolled in an advanced fellowship program on Oriental medicine and acupuncture. Already a licensed Acupuncture Physician, Dr. Markowitz will obtain a certification in acupuncture after completing the one-year program. “For thousands of years acupuncture has been a proven, effective, natural approach for many health conditions with great benefit,” said Markowitz. “Specifically for reduction of pain, improvement of fatigue, headaches, female hormone problems, successful treatment of obesity, digestive and respiratory problems,” he adds. Recognized by the National Institutes of Health, acupuncture is the ancient Oriental practice of inserting fine hair-like needles at key points along energy meridians. Acupuncture works by removing blocks along these meridians, allowing energy to flow freely, relieving pain and other symptoms in the process. For thirty years, Physicians Health and Injury Center has combined traditional and alternative medicine to help patients achieve a lifetime of optimal health and wellness. Dr Markowitz believes his patients will benefit by integrating acupuncture with the other specialties Physicians Wellness Center already includes, Medicine, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Nutritional Counseling, Therapeutic Massage, Occupational Health and now advanced Acupuncture. Dr. Markowitz received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1979, graduating magna cum laude from Northwestern College of Chiropractic. He also completed a three-year diplomat program in Occupational Healthcare, and frequently consults many corporations on ergonomics, as well as the prevention and treatment of work-related injuries. Dr. Markowitz is a member of the Foundation For Wellness Professionals and the Danbury Hospital Spinal Surgery Committee. |
